The T&L team continues to work with our D428 teachers at all grade levels to align curriculum and materials to the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and the Illinois Social Science Standards.

 

Assessment is an essential component of T&L. As educators we must be checking for understanding at all times to make sure that our students are learning as we are teaching. Assessments can range from an informal exit slip to IAR (a federally mandated assessment).

 

Our bilingual, dual and English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers work with our general education and special education teachers to provide the best program possible for our bilingual and English Learner students. Our instructional coaches are supporting teaching and learning in classrooms through modeling, coaching , co-teaching, observations, and reflecting with teachers.

 

The T&L team will continue to collaboratively support our teachers and administrators as we move forward with implementation of best practices in teaching and learning.
